John West Steam Pot Tuna Infusions
I’m always on the lookout for new quick and easy ways to prepare food, and it doesn’t get easier than pouring some boiling water in a pot and leaving it for five minutes. For that reason I was keen to give the John West range of tuna and couscous Steam Pots a try. There are several flavours available in this range, but the two that appealed most to me were the Tuna Infusions with Soy & Ginger and Mushroom Couscous and the Tuna Infusions with Chilli & Garlic and Spicy Red Pepper Couscous. I was pleasantly surprised by a suitably wholesome list of ingredients (43 percent tuna and 40 percent Couscous). Each pot contains around 400 kcal making a decent light meal. It could not have been easier to prepare, but it must be said, once it has been mixed up, the contents do not look especially appetizing. I am happy to report however that in both cases the appearance belies a delicious taste. I was very impressed by the blend of flavours and the quantities were well judged to provide a tasty and filling light meal. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy more of these at the current steal of an offer price at £1.50.
Cost: Currently on offer at Waitrose, Sainsbury, and Tesco for £1.50, full price will be £2.69
Verdict: Quick to prepare, surprisingly filling and flavoursome
